@MissMission
I disagree with you. The lasers have monochromatic light, which does not go deep enough in the skin, like the ruby, alexandrite and diode lasers. When the laser’s wavelength allows for deeper penetration like the ND:YAG ones the pigmentation of the hair does not accumulate enough energy for destroying the follicle. The IPL photoepilation uses poly-chronic light, which combines the advantages of all lasers without their disadvantages.This way even the deepest follicles are destroyed
@varone6t9
Your hormones are still booming up to this age, which is why may be someone told you this. The truth is that our hairs grow through our entire life and I know of nothing that can prevent them from showing up as we have it genetically programmed to have hairs growing at certain spots at certain age. Lasers, IPL etc. destroy only the active hairs at the moment, this does not mean that in 10 years you will not have new hairs growing, but they will be only few and thinner.
this it permanantly remove hair, or does the hair grow back
This poly-chronic light is the reason why IPL is prone to damaging skin. Eg, Mediterranean skin types do not handle IPL very well. There are dermatologists in Sydney that offer IPL for improvement of pigmentation, however, they are honest enough to deter their Mediterranean clients from it because it does more damage than good. Do you work at an IPL clinic? They’ll convince you they’re the best by using technical words. Final note, all information points to lasers being more effective.
i have veryyyyy pale skin and dark hair, will this work? lol
@ImaginarYxGoddesS it worked very well for me. I’m a guy and i’m 95% hairless on my face thus far after 5 treatments & 5 touchups. One more treatment & one more touchup to go & then it should be all clear. I am west indian (a little darker skin type so they used Yag laser). I went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC & my technician had 10 years of laser hair removal experience. I’m very happy.
@AmericanLaserRipOff OMG i’ve heard only bad things about American Laser Center. It’s amazing they are still in business.
@MissMission I agree with you on this. I went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC and i’m am extremely pleased with my results thus far. 95% hairless on my entire male face. One more treatment & touch up to go and it should be totally cleared. At Romeo & Juliet laser hair removal is all they do & my technician had 10 years of experience.
It’s been 7 months later since iI went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC and i’m am extremely pleased with my results thus far. 95% hairless on my entire male face. One more treatment & touch up to go and it should be totally cleared. At Romeo & Juliet laser hair removal is all they do & my technician had 10 years of experience.
@dlss87 this is the reason you should stick to the same nurse. I had the same technician for the last 7 months treating my face so as to avoid things like this. I hope the burns are nothing serious.
I plan to take laser training in arizona laser institute, but i don’t know whether i could use their certification in NY. and have any online paramedical esthetics program to recommend?
@DOSU344 LOL
I wish they had an special offer for hairy balls
@Starsky5000 doesn’t it hurt like crazy to get hair removed from your face? i am thinking that facial hair is probably the most coarse, and coarse areas hurt so bad…i had my chest done…i had to get it done on such a low setting bc even half-power of the laser felt like being stung by 1000 hornets at once…what was your pain level like? i guess maybe my skin is sensitive, but to me, this hurt 100x more than waxing…too expensive too…i spent like 6 grand for shitty results
@MurphGiovanni yes it hurts like hell. I have dark coarse hair on my face. It’s the perfect hair for laser to target. But the more coarser your hair is the more it hurts. In the beginning when i started it hurted so much tears came running down my eyes. But as the treatments progressed it still hurted but a litttle less. I took the pain because i know the end result will be worth it less or no hair to shave on my face. Thank God i don’t have to shave my face anymore ever perhaps.
@Starsky5000 you hated shaving your face that much??
@MurphGiovanni Yes i hated shaving my face very very much. I hated to get up in the morning and shave. Having laser hair removal on my face was like a burden off my head. The hair on my face was very coarse & hard. I would use a brand new gilllette mach 3 blade which would last me only about 2 or 3 shaves because my hair was that hard. I would also have to soften my hair with hot/warm water to soften the hair, the warm/hot water would flare up my rosacea. Thats another reason i got laser done.
@TaviYamato rofl
just go get this done at a doctor a dermatoligist. dont go to laser centers. they scam u
@Starsky5000 Hello-I have been thinking about laser hair removal from my neck line because I get HORRIBLE razor burn. It sounds like you got your entire facial hair removed. Just wanted to know if it works? A place quoted me $250/treatment and I will need 5-7 procedures so its going to be around $1500–which to me is well worth it if it works. Would you recommend it?
@stevekennyufc yes it does work if you have dark hair and go to a reputable place that use the right kind of laser for your hair & skin type with the right setting. I went to a very reputable place Romeo & Juliet in NYC and got 6 treatments & touchups for $1,750. I recently finished my last touch up and after 10 months since i began treatment i can say 90% of the hair is gone. The few that remain are sparse & thin. I will get those removed with electrolysis. I am very happy with the results.
Of course not, at least not at American Laser Centers. Do some research before you choose a laser hair removal company. I would wax and apply Epilar gel afterward. That gel is penetrate to a hair follicle and prevent a new growth. Each time you do waxing with Epilar you have 20% less hair and eventually after 10 treatment all your hair is gone. Safe and no pigmentation or burns.
@Starsky5000 Thanks a lot man! I really appreciate your info. So, did you get your entire face done for $1,750 including your neck line???? Because that sounds like a very reasonable cost. Anyway—I have my consult scheduled for sep 14th-so we’ll see how things go. Thanks again and best wishes to you.
@stevekennyufc yes i got my entire face done for $1,750 including my neckline. I’m extremely satisfied with the results. Please makesure you go to a reputable place.
@Starsky5000 Wow!! That sounds like a hell of a good price for the amount of work you had done!!!!! How do you know if the place is reputable? my consult is at dermatology asociates of central texas-on the website it has a bio of the staff MD, and his credentials-which do look impressive(ex.board certified in dermatology, prior experirence of being chief of dermatology at a hospital) so–do you think that sounds pretty good? Thanks again for your advice-
